Precision injection mold production can be divided into two parts,machining of base plate and cavity core.

We use mainly machining centers to process base plate. For cavity core,after machining with a big milling machine, we use a surface grinding machine to achieve the reference plane on the workpiece,and then NC machining process.

 

At first,we machine the parting plane with Wire-cut EDM and then engrave the cavity with an NC milling Macine,such as precision small machining center.Finally we machine the complicate profiles which cannot be machined by NC milling machine,but only by sinking EDM to complete the machining.

 

As described above, it is very important to implement NC production techniques whereever feasible. Therefore,in order to use the CAD/CAM system,NC machining data should be standardized and can be output as quickly possible.
